|
| Meaning:
|
The new orders component shows some indication of how strong manufacturing production needs to be to fill those orders. Unfilled orders data gives some indication as to whether or not there is a backlog in production. Bottlenecks in the production line may have an inflationary effect on the goods being produced. Shipments data shows sales levels. This data overall helps analysts to determine the strength of the manufacturing sector.
