Shane Bauman, President of Empire Title LLC in Denver Colorado got into the title business to bring some harmony and balance into his life.
“I used to sing in a funk and R&B band, Grass Sandwich, which played around Denver. We played all original songs and I helped write their material,” he states.
Five years ago, he decided it was time for a change in priorities. He had become a family man with a lovely wife and the first of three children on the way. That’s when he entered the title industry.
Shane was born in Eaton, a Colorado farming community north of Greeley. As part of a farming family, he learned the work ethic early. “I started working part time jobs when I was 12,” he states. “I learned that if you work hard, and with enthusiasm, you’ll succeed.” His Dad was also a positive influence, “He worked hard to provide for the family,” Shane says.
After graduating from University of Northern Colorado – Greeley with a major in business and minor in visual arts, he took a job as a marketing project manager with an education company in Ft. Collins.
He got into the title industry when a friend introduced him to the owner of a title company in Denver, where he worked for three years before being recruited by Empire Title as their Vice President. He assumed the title of President in early 2007.
When asked about his business influences he responds, “My greatest influence has come in the last two years. Christian Bosse was my immediate predecessor as the President of Empire and I replaced him when he moved up in the Empire hierarchy. We sort of mentored each other, I’m strong in sales and he taught me how to be more accountable for myself, and to inspire others to be accountable too.”
Shane has used the Focus Publications marketing tools and services for the past two years. “They are a tremendous help in staying in front of clients. When I’m out and about clients and prospects recognize me from my picture on the personalized publications they receive. It’s a great ice breaker,” he adds.
Shane also thinks they are a great time saver. “I run the company and sell too and Focus has helped me to expand my reach. Focus is a great value-added service that I can provide to clients and prospects,” he asserts.
“So many people are interested in market conditions. The Hot Sheets work well because of the different subjects; builders and developers are especially interested in the four key housing indicators,” he concludes.
Will Shane ever find the time to pursue his love of music? “Not right now, but I hope to return to it as time permits in the future,” he responds. In the meantime, he enjoys the spiritual balance acquired since his recent transition to family man.
