Success Story - Michelle Myers

Michelle MeyersIt’s all about relationship building.

Michelle Meyers, who is in business development at Equity Title of Nevada in Las Vegas, left an upper management position in the electronics and telecommunications industry about five years ago to do something different.

“Something different” was to take a job in the title industry.

“It was a busy time in the title business back then,” Michelle says. “I was given a list of prospects and told to start making calls. To get up to speed I attended classes to learn about the industry, and I’m grateful to my early customers, who were patient with me during the learning curve,” she continues.

What about her early influences?  “A great early influence was my very first boss. He was a great person, and taught me how to conduct myself in a business environment,” Michelle responds.

She believes that part of her job is to inform and educate.  Her executive position in telecommunications gave her experience in public speaking and for the last three years she has taught the title portion of night classes for people starting a second career in real estate.  “I talk about the legal aspects of title and cover marketing as well,” she asserts. “I find the articles in Tips, Tools & Tricks of the Trade to be a very useful teaching tool. I share them with my students to motivate and inspire them.”

Michelle has used Focus Publications’ marketing tools for the last four years to stay in touch with clients, prospects and contacts between visits.  How has she found them to be of assistance in her relationship building?

“They are a great way to stay connected.  I use Economic Focus, Week in Review and the Hot Sheets,” she replies. “My clients find them to be valuable.  I know that because once, when there was a delivery interruption, I got phone calls saying ‘where is my report?’ ”

I think it is particularly important for mortgage originators to know what’s going on every day in the market and the economic reports are a great way to do that,” she concludes.
